transfering my Xbox 360 slim info to 250 harddrive?

i have a 4gb xbox 360 slim. im getting a 250 gb harddrive and my friend was talking about that i should transfer my gamertag or somthing. could you tell me what stuff you can transfer and what i should transfer and how i would do it. and if it would reset or change anything or settings. thank you.

well, you cant buy a transfer cable because it is only good for a transfer from a phat console to a slim, not from slim to slim, so what you can do is: 1. start up xbox with new 250 gb hd 2. go to profiles, and surf all the way to the back where it says recover gamertag. 3. input your email and password where it tells you to 4. finally, you have your xbox live account back. Tips: remember, this only works if you have a LIVE account, otherwise xbox has no record of your profile. Also, when you recover your account, you will only get your info and gs back, so lets say you want to play escalation on black ops, and you downloaded it on your old 4gb hd, you wont have it on your new 250 gb hard drive until you redownload it, to redownload, go to your profile, and go to doiwnload history and download it again. ignore whAT CHANDLER said, it’s all wrong, DONT buy a transfercable, just follow my steps.
